Discovery Machine Inc. to Expand

Discovery Machine, of Williamsport Pennsylvania, has recently announced that six new positions will be created within the next year.  The new positions to be created include five software engineers and one salesperson.  In addition to these full-time positions, Discovery Machine will offer software engineering internships for summer.  “Discovery Machine has always been focused on capturing knowledge with the intent to deploy that knowledge in job aides, training systems and automation.  These new positions will allow us to transition our knowledge embedded business systems into Navy training systems,” said Todd Griffith, co-founder and President of Discovery Machine.

With the help of Congressman Chris Carney, representative of Pennsylvania’s 10th district, Discovery Machine secured a 1.2 million dollar federal contract with the Navy.  This contract will enable Discovery Machine to develop training systems for the Navy that are faster and more efficient than current techniques.  “We appreciate the support of Congressmen Carney.  His support has brought such a great growth opportunity for Discovery Machine.  We look forward to future business directions that this contract will make possible,” said Anna Griffith, co-founder and CEO of Discovery Machine.

Discovery Machine technology and methodology enables experienced officers in the field to more easily document their first-hand knowledge so that it can be applied to virtual training programs. Since enemy tactics are constantly changing it is difficult to develop training methods that relate to current trends.  By applying the modeling software developed by Discovery Machine, training systems can quickly capture the conditions actually seen in the field, resulting in a better representation of current information to new soldiers during training.  In fact, this improvement will enable the Navy to reduce the number of personnel required to conduct training by a factor of ten, leading to substantial savings.
