Todd W. Griffith, Ph. D.

Dr. Griffith has worked in the area of intelligent systems research for more than a decade and is widely published on subjects that include cognitive science, human-computer interaction and intelligent systems.

Dr. Griffith's current research involves building knowledge acquisition tools that allow subject matter experts to encode their own problem-solving strategies. His research has been supported by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the Office of Naval Research (ONR), the Navy Warfare Development Command (NWDC) and the National Science Foundation (NSF). the Discovery Machine software is the commercial realization of this research.

Dr. Griffith has taught computer science and artificial intelligence at Georgia Institute of Technology and at Bucknell University. He is a native of Williamsport, PA, and he holds both masters and doctoral degrees in computer science from Georgia Institute of Technology. As a 1991 cum laude graduate of Bucknell University, he received a bachelor of science in computer engineering and a bachelor of arts in philosophy.

Anna L. Griffith

Ms. Griffith is a 1991 magna cum laude graduate of Allegheny College, where she majored in computer science, and she holds masters in computer science from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Ms. Griffith's passion in her entire career has been automating knowledge work. She has worked in a wide variety of environments that include research labs at Carnegie Mellon University and Georgia Institute of Technology, Fortune 500 corporations and small companies focused upon national defense. Ms. Griffith has developed knowledge bases in many domains, including manufacturing, software design, architecture and military planning.

In the Williamsport region Ms. Griffith has spear headed the Greater Williamsport Technology Futures Organization. Ms. Griffith has brought together innovators, business leaders, academics and the public sector to spur on technology economic development. Howard H. Lewis
Strategic Business Advisor

Mr. Lewis’s experience in the many facets of technology companies spans more than 30 years. As an executive in Software Development and Management at IBM, he led the advanced design and strategy for a number of worldwide operating systems and application development products. Mr. Lewis has held senior executive positions at SEER Technologies, NxView Technologies and SlickEdit Inc., and he currently serves as an advisor or a board member for: Eclipse Foundation; Nevalon Technologies; Patent Wizards International; and 2ThumbZ Entertainment.

James McAssey
Vice President of Business Development

Jim's experience in business development of software solutions spans over 10 years at Oracle Corporation. Jim was also the founder of the TCO Consulting Group, an independent third-party advisory firm for business and IT leaders. Jim has over 20 years of IT experience in both business development and IT strategist roles. Jim brings these Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) skills to Discovery Machine's management team. Jim is a Gartner Group certified TCO expert. Previously, Jim worked for Oracle, Lockheed Martin, and General Electric.

Jim has received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University, an M.S. in Computer Science from Villanova University, and an MBA from the Wharton Business School of the University of Pennsylvania.
