Discovery Machine Inc. Announces Re-branding, Eclipse Initiatives and Patent Award
Santa Clara, CA, March 6, 2007– Version 5.0 of the Discovery Machine Modeler, the core knowledge acquisition platform, has been enhanced with a sketching console designed to capture knowledge in the form of highly intuitive "Task-Method-Knowledge" models.
Other improvements to the product line include a stand-alone Sketching Console for creating and viewing scenarios, a Custom Console for user-specific strategies and scenarios, an Advisor for solving complex algorithms and a GearRunner for desktop or distributed executables.
The Discovery Machine product line also includes the Eclipse Gear Plugin that enables users to efficiently capture, embed, and deploy the knowledge structures captured with Discovery Machine products. Specifically, this wizard aids software developers in calling and embedding Discovery Machine Gears in their software systems. The plugin launches a wizard within Eclipse that will gather required information about the DMI software and automatically generate and insert the required Java source code necessary to call and execute that process.
The unique value of the Discovery Machine portfolio was recently recognized with the award of a patent by the US Patent Office entitled: "System & Method for Collecting & Representing Knowledge Hierarchies." This technology, in development for over seven years, combines the Task-Method-Knowledge and Structure-Behavior-Function ontologies into one language that combines robust modeling capabilities of both strategies and knowledge.
Discovery Machine’s portfolio is supported on the Windows, Linux and Mac OSX platforms.
